Unpacking the Mission-Oriented Strategy: A Comprehensive Overview

In 2023, Barbados came together with a renewed focus to tackle our nation’s biggest challenges. We launched Mission Barbados, it sets out a shared vision for a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable future.

Mission Barbados highlights key issues we all agree are important and provides clear steps to make positive changes, both now and in the years ahead. It focuses on building economic strength, protecting the environment, and promoting fairness for everyone. Every Barbadian is invited to be part of this journey to shape our country’s future and create lasting benefits for all. When the missions were being developed, the government came up with cross-cutting principle that should guide mission implementation.

These include:
(1) Safeguarding and promoting Barbados’ culture and identity,
(2) Enfranchising workers and reducing poverty,
(3) Encouraging innovation and division,
(4) Keeping Barbados healthy and safety
(5) Sharing the burden, sharing the bounty.
